Good evening, Diary.
It seems autumn is really here for real now. All the trees have completely changed colors, except for the tree in front of my window. It still has lots of green on it. But, Rowan says it'll change to red in a week's time... or he'll light it on fire. Oh, Rowan. What will we do with him? He's such a lovable trouble-maker. I don't know why he thinks it'll change to red. It could turn yellow, gold, orange, or a mixture, but he's convinced all trees should be red and orange, since he loves those colors so much. I'm still hoping to see a purple tree. :3
So, on Monday we turn in our tree project, and I said I would update and tell you what I wrote down under each leaf. It is as follows:
My Profile: My name is Akádia. I was born on August 19th. I am an 8 year and 2 month old female Espeon. Before I started school this year, my parents homeschooled me. I wanted to spend more time with my friends, so now I go to public school. I am pokéball trained, but I prefer to run free. I live in the country-side with my mom and dad, who are both Espeon also.
My Hobbies: are writing, swimming, pottery, and dance. When I was young enough to write, I began writing stories and poems. I do this in my free time because it helps me feel good. During the summer, I love swimming and I also hope to take up competitive swimming when I'm older, even though I'm not a water Pokémon. My parents are both artists, but my mom has a pottery business. She taught me pottery when I was in first grade. Since then, I love making things with her. I don't know how to dance, like ballet or anything, but I like listening to music in my room and dancing along, so I consider it a hobby, too!
My Favorite Things: are the color purple, rubies, flowers, sunshine, crafts, fruit, art, friends, and school. Without school we wouldn't be able to learn, so it is a favorite thing of mine. Without friends, we'd be very lonely, so I love making new friends, and having good friends is one of my favorite things!
Three things I wish for: are peace, friendship, and love. You can't have one without the other. If we could all just get along, it would make the world a better place and would make us happier.
Music I like includes: country, country rock, soft rock, and some pop music. My favorite musician is Martina McBride. I think she's an amazing singer. I also like Plain White T's, and I have a deluxe edition of their first album. I feel that Fleetwook Mac is one of the best classic bands and has timeless songs. I think Stevie Nicks has a powerful voice and is very talented, even though I still like Martina's voice better.
My best friends: are Larza, a wonderful Eevee, and Rowan, a crazy good Flareon. We have been best friends since we were little, and I hope we are best friends forever.
My Motivation: for everything is "to make others happy." I do things I'm passionate about, but I will even do things I am not crazy about if I know that it will help someone else and make them happy. At the same time, I never change who I am to please others. I simply try my best to make everyone smile.
Salutations, my Diary!
School has been keeping me very busy, and I love every second of it! It's amazing it is October already. It seems like time has really flown by. Larza and Rowan disagree with me. I look at it as finishing one out of 9 school months, since I don't count all those weeks and days of vacation as "school time." When I home schooled, I didn't get holidays and vacation time. I usually even did school work in the summer, which is fine with me, since I like to keep active.
Speaking of being active, I am almost done with my tree project for school. I am happy with how it is coming out. Next time I write, I'll tell you the things I wrote under each leaf. I'm still having trouble finding what to put where the roots are.
Okay, well, it's Friday, and Larza wants us to watch a movie together tonight. I've got to go. I'll write more in you soon, Diary.
I'm sorry I haven't written in a while, but we are starting to get a lot of work at school.
In fact, I haven't even really been able to hang out with Larza and Rowan much outside of school. Of course, Rowan is always very busy with art classes and he has a band, too. I think that's cool. I would love to have a band and be able to sing. Oh, but I don't really know if I'm good enough to be lead singer. But, I would like to do that. Maybe when I'm older I'll be able to get vocal lessons. My music teacher, Mr. Exploud, said he used to teach voice lessons back when he was first out of college. Maybe he could give me some advice.
Anyway, Larza keeps calling me and asking me to come over her house so we can be study buddies. I would do that, but she gets so side-tracked whenever we try to study together or do work together, that it's not like we're really even getting anything done. She is a big-time procrastinator, though, so she always gets her projects done right before they're due. I don't like to do that. I like to finish things right away, and then I have extra time to make sure I get the project just how I want it.
So, we have a project due in a few weeks at school, and I'm working on it now. Larza and Rowan don't understand why I'm such a perfectionist. But, I don't consider it perfectionism; I just want to do my best and be the best that I can be. And, so I give it my all. Plus, this is my first year in public school, and I don't want people to say bad things about Pokémon who were homeschooled. I work just as hard as kids who went to public school all their life, and that's something that I really want to make people know. Some people are unfair to those who homeschool, and sometimes they even make fun of homeschoolers. I think, though, that it doesn't matter where you're taught, it's how you respond to the teaching. And, so that's why I always give 100-percent to my work, as silly as it seems to other kids.
The project we have at school is really neat. It is supposed to be a tree with colored leaves on it. Under each leaf, we are supposed to write or draw things about us, like our interests and friends and things we like and dislike. Then under the roots, we are supposed to write or draw what we think is our motivating quality or attribute. We learned what qualities and attributes were in class.
I am making my tree out of construction paper, glitter glue, and acrylic paint. And, I'm putting 6 leaves on my tree. The teacher said we had to do at least 5, but I feel that I needed one more. So, I am going to write down a general profile under one of them, and then hobbies, favorites, what I wish for, what kind of music I like, and who my best friends are under each of the other leaves. I'm doing all my leaves different shades of purple because the teacher said the tree was supposed to be unique to us, not just normal colored autumn trees.
I am having some trouble thinking of what my motivation for everything is, though. Rowan said "fire" is his motivation, but I don't think that he knows what the word motivation means. And, Larza said she's putting down "happiness" as her motivation, which seems pretty true of her. But, what motivates me? I guess I still need to think about that for a while.
Wow, this was a really long entry, Diary! Well, I hope to write back soon. Bye!
The second week of school has been pretty great. All the teachers love me and are constantly asking me to join extra after-school classes. One teacher even asked if I could help tutor some of the kids that were having trouble. I'm not doing any after-school stuff, but I have been able to help a lot with helping kids that are having trouble. There is this Skitty in my math class that is having trouble with fractions. I mean, it's completely new stuff, so I don't blame her for having a hard time. But, everyone else is progressing and she's not. Her name is Keri. She's really, really nice and super sweet. I help tutor her at lunch and sometimes during recess. We are good friends now and we always sit together at lunch, even when I'm not helping her with math. I think Larza really likes Keri, too.
The teacher just told us today that next week we are going to be getting a lot more work. I think that means that we are handling the work we are getting right now very well, and it's an honor to get more work assignments. But, Larza and Rowan are already groaning about it. I'm actually really excited. School has been great so far! It's a place where you can go and show-off your talents. =3 Well, not that I'm a show-off, but you get recognition if you do a good job on something.
So, if next week is going to be a big work load, I might not be able to write in my diary as much, but I'll still be writing, of course. I'm thinking about putting all my poems into a book and getting it bound. Maybe I can make a poem book and give it to Larza as a present. She really likes poetry. I think that's because it's kinda the same format as songs, and Larza enjoys writing songs. She plays the piano really well. <3
But, I'm going to go now. I think I'll call Rowan and Larza up on the phone and see if they have plans this weekend. Okay, bye, Diary!
Good Morning, Diary!
Oh, my gosh! School is awesome! I've been missing out on so much the last three years! You see, unlike Larza and Rowan, I was, up until recently, homeschooled. So, I know all the basics about school, but I've never actually been there before--the teachers and crafts and lockers and other kids and lunch tables! Everything is so... magical!
First, we started off with introductions and I got to meet my homeroom teacher, Mr. Mime. He's very nice, although not much of a talker. Lots of body language. And, then we had first period. I've never had first period before! It was all just one period before, no switching rooms like this! Anyway, we walked through the hallways to our lockers, which are really cool. My locker combination is secret, though. Then, we get our books for first period, which happened to be art class. Now, I'm not much of an artist, but Mr. Smeargle really makes you want to be an artist. We got to use paw-paints. I made a picture of Larza and she made a picture of Rowan. And, Rowan made a picture of... a pie, lit on fire. *sighs* He'll never learn. Anyway, we gave each other our pictures. So now I have a flaming pie hanging on my bedroom wall. Haha!
I have to say, honestly, my favorite class was writing. We got to work on poetry and it was fantastic! I wrote a poem about the sun being like a yellow jewel suspended on a net of blue skies. I said the clouds were as majestic as mist emitted by Ho-Oh. My teacher really loved my poem and let me read it in front of the class. But, that was only the first day! And, it was so much fun. Today will be even better because we'll really get to work hard.
So, I've got some homework to finish. Exciting stuff. Poetry and math that I didn't finish last night. See ya later, my darling Diary!
It's my first day of school. I've never been to school before and I'm super nervous. In fact, I barely got to sleep last night. I kept going in and out of my Pokéball, but my nerves have got the best of me. My friend Eevee, Larza, said I should write my feelings down in a log or diary like she does. I feel better already!
So I should introduce myself. I'm Akádia, and I'm an Espeon. I'm not too special or anything, but I like writing stories.
Anyway, schooltime! Bye, Diary!
